Trickbook films your tricks on a terrain park's fixed cameras and turns them into clips on your phone. This page answers the common questions. For anything else, email admin@trickbook.fi.
Getting filmed
Trickbook films you at parks that have Trickbook cameras.
- When you are at the park, turn on Auto-record: tap Turn on auto-record at the bottom of the Tricks tab, or open Profile → Settings (the gear). It can only be switched on at a park with Trickbook cameras.
- Allow location Always, with Precise Location on. The app uses it to tell which obstacle you are riding while your phone is in your pocket.
- Ride. Each pass through a filmed obstacle becomes a trick in the Tricks tab, usually a minute or two after the run.
Does it drain my battery? What does it do with my location?
Precise location runs only inside the park. Everywhere else the app only watches the park's boundary, which uses almost no battery. Your position is checked on your phone; we receive which obstacle you rode and when, not where you were.
Why wasn't my run filmed?
- Auto-record was off, or location was not set to Always with Precise Location on. The app tells you which one when you turn auto-record on.
- Your phone had no mobile data for a couple of minutes around the run, so the run never reached us in time.
- The park's cameras were offline at the time.
How long are my tricks kept?
Tricks you have not starred are kept for 3 days and then deleted. Star a trick to keep it: starred tricks stay in Collections until you delete them. Clips you save and posts you publish stay until you delete them.
Saving and publishing a clip
- Open a trick in the Tricks tab, trim it and frame it in the Create Clip screen, then save it. Saved clips are under Private on your profile.
- A new clip takes about a minute to be prepared in 9:16. After that, open it and tap Publish to post it to the feed. Unpublish and Delete are in the same place.
- If you signed up with an email address, verify it first: the app offers to resend the link.
Reporting and blocking
- Report a clip: tap the ••• button on any clip, then Report clip.
- Block a rider: tap ••• on one of their clips, then Block rider. Or open their profile and tap •••.
- Report a rider: open their profile, tap •••, then Report rider.
- Blocked riders' clips are hidden from your feed and search. To unblock someone, open their profile and tap ••• → Unblock rider.
We review every report and act on objectionable content within 24 hours.
Footage of you
The park cameras record continuously, but footage that isn't part of a rider's run is overwritten within 15 minutes, and runs are deleted after 3 days unless the rider keeps them.
If you appear in a clip or in park footage and want it removed, even if you don't use Trickbook, email admin@trickbook.fi. Tell us the park, the approximate date and time, and anything that identifies the clip. We respond within one month, as the GDPR requires.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, your tricks, your clips and your posts. If you can't get into the app, email admin@trickbook.fi with your username. We confirm it is your account before deleting anything.
