Terms of Use
Effective date: 3 October 2026
Last updated: 3 October 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Trickbook Oy (business ID 3651435-3, Snellmaninkatu 16 C 26, 00170 Helsinki, Finland — "Trickbook", "we", "us") covering the Trickbook app and the camera service behind it (the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
1. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian's involvement, and they accept these Terms on your behalf.
You may not use the Service if we have previously terminated your account for a breach of these Terms.
2. Your account
Provide accurate information when you register and keep it current. You are responsible for your credentials and for what happens under your account — tell us promptly at admin@trickbook.fi if you think someone else has access.
Your username is public. We may reclaim a username that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, or is used in bad faith.
3. What the Service does, and what it does not promise
Trickbook records riders at partner parks using fixed cameras and turns those recordings into clips. The Service depends on hardware at a physical location, network connectivity, and your phone's location permissions.
We do not guarantee that any given run will be captured. Cameras can fail, connections drop, snow and weather interfere, features close, and location detection is not perfect. Missing footage is not a breach of these Terms, and we do not offer compensation for a run that was not recorded. If you are relying on a specific run being filmed, do not rely on us.
Recordings are cut from a rolling buffer that is continuously overwritten. If your run is not matched in time, that footage is gone and cannot be recovered.
4. Content rules — zero tolerance
Trickbook has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You must not upload, publish, share or transmit content, or behave in a way, that:
- is illegal, or promotes illegal activity;
- harasses, bullies, threatens, defames or intimidates anyone;
- is hateful or discriminatory on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation;
- is sexually explicit, gratuitously violent, or otherwise obscene;
- depicts or encourages self-harm, or harm to others;
- depicts dangerous behaviour presented as something to imitate;
- infringes anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
- is spam, a scam, deliberately misleading, or artificially inflates engagement;
- impersonates another person or misrepresents your affiliation with anyone; or
- attempts to access another user's account or data, probe our systems, or circumvent any technical restriction.
Consequences. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend an account, or terminate it permanently, depending on the severity and whether the behaviour repeats. Serious breaches — threats, sexual content involving minors, targeted harassment — result in immediate permanent termination and, where appropriate, a report to the authorities.
5. Your content, and how we moderate
Your content remains yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce and display it solely in order to operate and provide the Service — for example, storing a clip in your archive, or showing a clip you publish in the feed. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in routine backups until they cycle out, and anything we must retain by law.
You confirm that you have the rights to the content you publish and that publishing it does not breach anyone else's rights.
Reporting. Any user can report a clip or a user from inside the app. Reported content is hidden from the reporter immediately. We review every report and act on objectionable content within 24 hours, removing it and taking action on the account where warranted.
Blocking. Any user can block another user. A blocked user's clips no longer appear for you, and any follow relationship between you is removed in both directions.
Our discretion. We may remove content or act on an account to enforce these Terms or to protect users. Where we can, we will tell you what was removed and why.
Intellectual property complaints. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact admin@trickbook.fi with a description of the work, a link to the content, and your contact details. We remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
The Service may offer paid features. When it does, purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are governed by Apple's terms as well as these.
- Price, billing period and what is included are shown before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel in your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before the period ends; cancelling stops future renewals and does not refund the current period.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy. We cannot issue App Store refunds.
- Your statutory rights as a consumer under Finnish and EU law are unaffected. Note that by starting a digital subscription immediately you may lose the 14-day withdrawal right, as EU consumer law permits where you have asked for immediate performance and acknowledged that loss.
7. Filming, other people, and your conduct on the slope
Park cameras record a public feature and may capture people other than you. You must not publish footage in a way that harasses, defames, or invades the privacy of anyone in it, and you must not use the Service to follow, monitor or target another person.
If you appear in footage and want it removed, contact admin@trickbook.fi — see §8 of the Privacy Policy.
Safety is yours. Snowboarding and skiing are inherently dangerous. Terrain-park features carry a serious risk of injury or death. Trickbook films; it does not supervise, instruct, inspect features, or make any assessment of whether a feature is safe or within your ability. Never ride a feature because a camera is pointed at it. You are solely responsible for your own safety, for obeying the park's rules, and for the consequences of what you choose to ride.
8. Availability and changes to the Service
We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the Service, add or remove parks and cameras, and change retention periods. Where a change materially reduces what you get, we will give reasonable notice in the app or by email.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and your mandatory rights under Finnish and EU consumer-protection law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to §9:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost or unrecorded footage.
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 100.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your content as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing would expose us or other users to material risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — §5 (licence, to the extent stated), §9, §10, §12 — do so.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
Disputes go to the competent courts of Finland, unless mandatory law gives you the right to sue elsewhere. If you are a consumer in Finland, you may also refer a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) after first contacting the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority's consumer advisory service. EU consumers may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
13. Apple
Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no responsibility for the Service. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
14. General
These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the Service. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale of the business.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email before they take effect, and continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.
